Species:

Giant, arthropod-like parasites from the Permian Era.

History:

These two arthropod-like creatures came from the Permian Era. During that time, these M.U.T.O.s exhibited a prey/parasite relationship with the Godzillasaurus Serizawa species, either being hunted by the saurian beasts are even using them as living nests akin to Tarantula Hawks. It is unknown if their species was wiped out by Godzilla's species or by the Permian-Triassic Event. However, on 1999, two spores containing Janmuto and Femuto were found in a Uranium mine in the Phillipines embedded in the fossilized skeleton of a long dead G-Serizawa codenamed "Adam", Janmuto having already hatched while the spore containing Femuto remained dormant and was locked away in Yucca Mountain. In his larval state, Janmuto burrowed his way to  Janjira, Japan and caused a nuclear meltdown which resulted in a city-wide evacuation/quarantine. For fifteen years, Janmuto would cocoon himself in the ruins of the Janjira power plant and proceeded to feed on the radiation until he hatched in 2014, inadvertently aided by Monarch's efforts to kill him, and flew off in search of food. Janmuto later appeared in Hawaii, having obtained an Akula-class submarine and feasting on its nuclear core before he engaged in a brief confrontation with the US military, dispatching them with an EMP-like disruption wave. Janmuto would later encounter the awakened Godzilla which led to a battle destroying a good portion of the city before flying off. Meanwhile, it was revealed Janmuto was calling out for his counterpart in Yucca Mountain; Femuto.

Meanwhile, Femuto finally hatched and, after having fed on a good portion of Yucca Mountain's nuclear depository, began to move from Las Vegas all the way to the East Coast, leaving a path of destruction in her wake as she searched for a place to lay her eggs. A plan to destroy the two  M.U.T.O.s and Godzilla using a nuclear missile fitted with a clockwork-style timer as to prevent exposure to their disruptive fields had been put into effect once it was discovered their convergence point would put them in San Francisco, however, the plan went awry when one of the missiles was stolen by Janmuto who gave it to Femuto as a courting gift. Eventually, Godzilla engaged both monsters in a battle that lasted all the way into midnight and resulted in 90% of San Francisco in ruins. In the ensuing fight, both Janmuto and Femuto were killed while their nest was destroyed by Lt. Ford Brody, thus leading to their seeming extinction.

Behavior:

Both Janmuto and Femuto displayed traits similar to that of animals trying to survive. However, this behavior led to the destruction of Janjira, Honolulu, Las Vegas, and San Francisco. The two also displayed a level of intelligence similar to that of pack hunters such as wolves as they managed to overpower Godzilla whenever they attacked him at once.

Unique features:

  • Despite being arthropodic in appearance, both Janmuto and Femuto possessed attributes not found in any arthropods such as bat-like wings on Janmuto, reptilian hind-limbs, the presence of a mammalian mouth, and an endoskeleton as well as an exoskeleton.
  • Monarch discovered the exoskeletons of both M.U.T.O.s had a consistency similar to that of metal after collecting samples from their autopsies. This metal-like carapace is presumably what prevented Janmuto and Femuto's bodies from collapsing in on themselves.
  • The disruptive fields used by both M.U.T.O.s was presumably a natural defensive weapon against the G-Serizawa species to weaken or outright neutralize their Atomic Breath.
Yeah, I changed Hokmuto's name to Janmuto since the original script for the 2014 movie had him appearing in Hokkaido and not Janjira.
