History:

Much like Godzilla, Kong is the last of his kind; a species of giant ape-like hominids who existed on Skull Island. According to the files of Aaron Brooks, Kong was literally born into battle, his parents slain by the reptilian hypervores known as "Skull-Crawlers". Since then, Kong became a protector of sorts towards the Iwi, the natives of Skull Island who worship him as a god. In 1973, an expedition meant to study the bedrock of the island consisting of Monarch agents Houston Brooks, San Lin, and William Randa, photojournalist Mason Weaver, tracker/SAS captain James Conrad, Land-Sat, and 3rd copter assault company the Sky Devils, resulted in an encounter with the god of Skull Island as well as the reawakening of his mortal enemies. After many encounters on the island (with the casualties consisting of many Sky Devil members including Lt.-Col. Preston Packard, Major Jacksford "Jack" Chapman, Land-Sat agents Steve Woodward and Victor Nieves, and Agent Randa), the survivors (including Lt. Hank Marlow who had been stranded on the island since WWII) escaped the island and chose to keep their expedition secret. 

In 1995, Houston and San's son, Aaron, led his own expedition to Skull Island in defiance of his father in order to prove Kong's existence to the world, as well as assurance he was on humanity's side only to disappear. Aaron's message to his father, retrieved in 2012, gave in sight on how Kong had, in a way, "evolved" since the '73 expedition. As of now, Kong has remained on Skull Island... as he should. 

Behavior:

According to reports from both Houston and Aaron Brooks, Kong is stated to be a protector of sorts, much like Mothra, albeit isolated to keeping the Iwi safe from Skull Island's predators such as the Skull-Crawlers. However, they also state Kong does not discriminate who or what he kills to ensure the natural balance of the island is kept in check, even going so far as to kill humans without hesitation. He is also described to display intelligence commonly found in humans and other primates. 

Unique features:

• Kong possesses tremendous strength and durability in addition to an almost human-like intelligence. 
• Kong's skeleton is implied to have the same level of density as Godzilla's to prevent his body from collapsing in on itself albeit lighter to allow him greater feats of agility.
